SEARCH’s Government Affairs Specialist supports our active program of legislative and administrative affairs, based in the Washington, D.C. area. This position is responsible for assisting with our work on national policy, legislative, regulatory, and other activities in the Federal and State governments, focused on issues and activities relevant to SEARCH Members and the organization. The Government Affairs Specialist provides SEARCH Members with timely information about pending Federal legislation and the Federal appropriations process; communicates with Federal officials in Congress and the Administration about the impact of Federal policy on justice stakeholders; and maintains cooperative relationships with Federal, State, and local organizations, peer organizations and associations, and regulatory agencies and the Congress.

This position reports to the Director of Government Affairs (DGA).
